The creation of GOT Rope Access team.

Global Ocean Technology are pleased to announce the creation of their Rope Access team with the aim of providing clients from the Oil and Gas sector to Marine Vessels with access solutions supplemented by competent Rope Access multi-disciplined Service Engineers – and personnel with multiple skills.

Since creation of GOT’s Rope Access team one year ago we have conducted several Rope Access projects for some of the industries leading Oil and Gas companies, and shipping companies. Currently in conjunction with IRATA (International Rope Access Trade Association), the world’s leading authority in industrial Rope Access, GOT are working towards their full IRATA membership.

GOT provide competent, highly trained IRATA and SOFT Rope Access Technicians. Our Rope Access technicians bring a vast range of experience from the Crane Service Industry and Drilling Equipment Industry. To compliment this GOT’S Rope Access technicians are all highly trained, highly competent and qualified multi-disciplined Service Engineers.

MAERSK INTERCEPTOR ROPE ACCESS PROJECT

GOT Rope Access Service Engineers were tasked by their valued customer “Maersk Drilling” to carry out 2-Yearly certification and Pinion Rack installation of the Derrick Alimak. The scope was completed on the Maersk Interceptor in Global Ocean Technology’s Shipyard, located In Mandal Norway.

Pinion Rack Replacement.Global Ocean Services AS Rope Access Service Engineers replaced 45 X 1.5M sections of the Alimak Pinion Rack. Although one part of the scope this was critical and required careful planning and execution from the team. This scope was carried out within the required time frame, incident free and to an extremely high standard.

Alimak 2-Yearly Mechanical Inspection / Re-CertificationGlobal Ocean Services AS Rope Access Service Engineers were tasked with carrying out full 2-yearly inspection and re-certification of the clients Alimak. This scope involved removal, inspection and overhaul of both Electric travel motors and centrifugal brakes. This scope was carried out within the required time frame, incident free and to an extremely high standard.

GOT Rope Access Service Engineers experience and workmanship was very evident throughout this scope. The team delivered the required service to client well within the allocated time and incident free. A successful and safe scope, well done to all involved.

ROWAN VIKING ROPE ACCESS PROJECT

GOT Rope Access Service Engineers were tasked by their valued customer “VALARIS” to install, commission and Load Test three 5T constant tension utility winches located on the Rowan Viking offshore in the Norwegian Sector.

The versatility of the GOT Rope Access Service Engineers shone through during this project. Providing the client with all their needs in a cost-effective team. The scope emphasized the time efficient and cost affective service GOT Rope Access department provides. One small team providing both rope access and engineering services as opposed to other providers drafting in two teams to complete such scopes.

Rope Access Crane Service Engineers
GOT Rope Access Crane Service Engineers provide clients with 5-Yearly crane inspection and lifting gear inspections, load testing, crane maintenance including troubleshooting of all system faults ranging from Hydraulic, Electric, Electronic or Mechanical, Hydraulic hose inspections / Change out and full crane certification under Norwegian regulation A1. In addition we do deliver skilled service with partners on all drilling equipment sutch as top drives – hydraracers – fingerboards along with other Rope Access Riggers.
