A Busy October at Safe Yards with Multiple Vessel Projects Completed

October has been a busy month at Safe Yards, with several vessels at the yard for maintenance, modifications and painting work. With projects running in parallel, our team has been working to keep everything on schedule despite the unpredictable autumn weather.

Among the vessels visiting us recently were Norwind Vestri, Island Challenger and MS Rosfjord, with two of them sharing the dry dock at the same time.

Norwind Vestri – repainting on a tight schedule

One of the recent projects was Norwind Offshore's Norwind Vestri, which arrived at Safe Yards for repainting.

The vessel had a limited window available before returning to operation, making planning and coordination particularly important. October weather can be challenging for painting work, with changing temperatures, rain and short weather windows.

Our crew made the most of the available working hours, adapting to the conditions and keeping the project moving forward. The painting work was completed within the planned timeframe, allowing Norwind Vestri to return to operation as scheduled.

During the same period, MS Rosfjord was also in dry dock alongside Norwind Vestri, with both vessels sharing the dock facilities. Having two vessels in dock simultaneously required coordination of the available space and ongoing activities.

Island Challenger – maintenance and modifications alongside the quay

While Norwind Vestri and MS Rosfjord were in dry dock, Island Challenger was alongside our quay for a maintenance and modification project.

With work taking place both in the dock and alongside the quay, several activities were progressing at the same time. Each project had its own requirements and schedule, making communication and coordination between the teams an important part of the daily work.

Keeping the yard moving

Periods like these are a normal part of life at Safe Yards. Some vessels come in for shorter assignments, while others require more extensive work. Whatever the scope, the aim is the same: to deliver the agreed work and get vessels back into operation with as little downtime as possible.

We would like to thank our customers for their continued trust and our crew for their efforts during a busy October.

We look forward to welcoming more vessels to Safe Yards in the months ahead.
